Third S., graduat-ed, Jan. 30, from Aviation Familiarization School, Na-val Air Technical Training Center, Memphis, Tenn. The school includes aircraft fa-miliarization, d e s i g nations, types and missions, aircraft handling, first aid, and air-craft fire fighting. He will now be advanced to one of the more technical .schools at the training center. Before entering the service in July 1960, Brown was graduated from Springville high school. Dr. Boyden Bird dies on coast Funeral services were con-ducted Saturday in Los An-geles, Calif., for Dr. Park Boyden Bird, 62, a native of Springville and former resident who died Tuesday, of last week of a heart ailment. Burial was in Los Angeles. Born January 2, 1S99, in Springville, he was a son of Amasa C. and Mary Louise Whitehead Bird. He attended school here and graduated from the Springville high school. He was a graduate of the North-western University School of Dentistry at Evanston, 111., and had practiced dentistry in Los Angeles for the past 35 years. He was a member of the LDS church. His wife, Blanch Clegg Bird, whom he married in the Salt Lake Temple survives, as do two daughters, Mrs. Lester (Carol) Cutting, Menlo Park, Calif.; Mrs. William M. (Bar-bara) McCroll, Chicago; seven grandchildren; a brother and three sisters, Mrs. F. W. (Jes-sie) Goates and Vern Bird, Los Angeles; Mrs. J. R. Enlistments included the name of James' Louis Allred in the Navy and Carl H. Talbot in the army. Transferred Paul Ence has taken over the management of Culligan's Soft Water Service in the Springville area and the for-mer manager, Harold Thorn has been transferred to the Ogden office. |
