Show i - -.j Ski boosters see hope in prospects Unusual weather conditions thus far this winter have not cooperated in any way with plans of the Seven Mountain Corporation to develop a ski area in this vicinity, but officers offi-cers of the corporation are not giving up, it was announced announ-ced this week. Since checking and re-checking the many surveys of the proposed ski site and comparing compar-ing them with other developed sites, officers are certain that the prospects are most favorable favor-able for a fine recreational area here. However some difficulty diffi-culty is being experienced in gaining local interest. Establishment of a recreational' recrea-tional' site as outlined in present pre-sent plans would be a, big asset to this locality, townspeople believe, 'and a majority of citizens citi-zens have expressed a desire to see plans mature. Located in the midst of a populated area, such a recreational recrea-tional site would attract tourists tour-ists both summer and winter. Approximately 1,600,000 tourists tour-ists pass the area annually at the present time and a big percent, per-cent, it is believed, would stop for such an attraction. Aside from the actual ski lifts, development of the area would mean the establishment of additional housing, motels, restaurants, as well as stores, shops and other facilities. It would mea a boost in the development de-velopment of the entire area. The company has published a prospectus which will answer ans-wer many questions of those interested and a copy of it along with other information may be secured from the headquarters head-quarters office at 240 East Center, Provo. |
