Show Parties honor young visitor Complimentary to Steven Boyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerol Boyer of Washington, D- C, who has spent the past nine weeks in Springville with his grandmother, Mrs. Blanch Ostlund, a going away party was given by Mrs. Ostlund before be-fore he left. A group of young friends enjoyed the afternoon with games and lunch and presented present-ed the guest of honor with some nice gifts. Present were Craig Wiley, Steven Robbins, Eric Bird, David and Cindy Jenkins, Butch Degn, Warren Christensen, Valarie Boyer, Le-Roy Le-Roy Miller, Marlene Boyer, Suzan and Mary Thomas and the guest of honor. On Sunday his aunt, Miss Mary Boyer gave a dinner party for him inviting his little lit-tle cousins as guests. Sp'ecial table decorations and favors added to the occasion. He left Monday with friends to return home by way of Yellowstone, Niagara Falls and other points of interest. Among the many relatives who came from out-of-town to attend the funeral services for Mrs. Jean Beardall Merry-weather Merry-weather on Monday of last week, were a brother Ray A. Beardall and wife of Santa Rosa, Calif, a twin sister and brother-in-law, Francis and Jeanette Jones of Escondido, Calif., and a sister Mrs. Dor-otha Dor-otha Cook of Sandy. Mrs. Hattie Blackett has enjoyed en-joyed the company of her granddaughter, Sharon Blackett, Black-ett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Blackett of Hermosa, Calif., the past two weeks. She was also entertained by an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Packard as well as by many friends at dinners, patio and canyon parties. She returned to her home Monday of this week. Twenty-one little 'friends helped Janet Wimmer celebrate her 11th birthday Saturday early evening. Her mother, Mrs. Howard Thorpe directed lawn games and the group also enjoyed a hamburger fry. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Calder (Jane Harrison) of Los Angeles, An-geles, Calif., have been spending spend-ing a few days vacation in Springville with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Harrison. |
