Show At Monday meet School board awards, rejects supply bids Bids and quotations on supplies sup-plies pertinent to the operation opera-tion of various facilities for the school year, were taken up at the Nebo School Board meeting Monday evening. All bids were rejected on the furnishing of milk and cottage cheese for school lunches lun-ches during the year. Likewise all bids were rejected on the sale and removal of a cottage at Santaquin and a second call for bids was authorized. The board decided to accept the average low bid from J. A. Seethaler of Provo to supply sup-ply meat for the schol lunch program next year from the first of the school year to January Jan-uary 13, 1961, and to accept the bid of Utah Packing Co. of Provo to supply lard and Wesson oil for the entire year. The low bid quotation submitted sub-mitted by Jack Swenson of Spanish Fork to write insurance insur-ance for a premium of $644.59 covering busses and cars used to transport students during the school year, for bodily liability, lia-bility, property damage and medical payments, was accepted. accep-ted. Miner's -Auto Service bid to furnish gasoline to district owned busses, trucks and cars for the year, was accepted for the springville district at $.230 net cost per gallon. Boyack Conoco will furnish the Spanish Fork area for $.259; the O.K. Service, the Payson area for $.259; Kathie's Texaco, the Santaquin area for $.249 and Curley's Service, the Goshen area for $.259 per gallon. gal-lon. The board decided to accept a quotation of $4 each for tuning pianos in the district, submitted by Thad Prows of Spanish Fork Other bids for $5 A were submitted by Golden K. Hanson of Springville and J. Eldon Borwn of Draper. Local representatives of some of the insurance companies compan-ies offering group coverage were invited to present their various plans of coverage and estimated costs. After considerable consid-erable discussion, a motion was made by Dr. William H. Sorensen, seconded by Leo A. Crandall, that the insurance contract be awarded to the U.T.W.A.. for one year only, with the stipulation that a research re-search study, be made of all major plans in the area and recommendations re-commendations be made to the Board by March 1, 1961. |
