Show yjeud JoteJ . . . The Eleventh ward Relief Society, under the direction of President Sarah Weight, spent an interesting afternoon one day last week at the home of Mrs. Ellis Bird, where Mrs. Ceo Heavener told of her tour last summer through Europe. The group met with Mrs. Bird due to an ailment which confines con-fines her to her home and most of the time to a chair making it impossible for her to attend meeting. Mr. and Mrs. E. Morgan Greenwood and children of Concord, Calif., have returned to their home following a ten-day ten-day visit here with Mrs. Greenwood's Green-wood's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Simkins and other re-atives re-atives and friends. They also visited a sister of Mrs. Greenwood, Green-wood, Mrs. Marie S. Roach who is confined to the Spanish Fork hospital with virus pneumonia. pneu-monia. Mr. and Mrs. Don Miner visited vi-sited during the past week with Mr. and Mrs. Ken Curtis at Palisade, Colo., where Mr. Curtis is employed on con- struction. The Curtis' son, Alan Curtis, who played for Superior Asphalt baseball team in Springville, but had to leave before the tournament, became one of the star players play-ers for Palisade and helped the Colorado team win the OTA tournament trophy of the Western Slope, which gave the team a trip to Salida, Colo, to play in the State Old Timers tournament. Mr. and Mrs. Miner saw the championship champion-ship game played at Delta and said they were proud of Alan's fine playing and that he is looking forward to playing in the state tournament. One reason Americans won't go Communist is that when they hear the shout, "Workers "Work-ers Arise," they think it's time for the coffee break. Jack Wassweman. |
