Show Judge Joseph E. Nelson Addresses Legion Aux. Legion members were guests of the Legion Auxiliary at their November meeting last Wednesday at Memorial Hall with Unit President Marva Davis Da-vis in charge. She introduced the department depart-ment president, Mrs. Elva Wig-nail Wig-nail and the department secretary, secre-tary, Mrs. Ruby Farnsworth who spoke briefly. The meeting was then turned over to Mrs. Sterling Price, national defense chairman, who introduced the guest speaker, Judge Joseph E. Nelson. Emphasizing the importance of constant guarding of our rights and freedoms Judge Nelson Nel-son urged a better knowledge of the history of our country. A knowledge of how we attained at-tained our freedom will be the best defense of that freedom, he said. Music was furnished by Mrs. A. LeRoy Erickson and Mrs. Max Sumsion who played two piano duets and by Mrs. Ernest Er-nest Boyer who gave a melody of patriotic selections, accompanied accom-panied on the piano by Mrs. Sumsion. Refreshments were served at the close of the meeting to approximately ap-proximately forty members and guests. Hostesses for the evening were: LaRue Walker, Lola Weight, Elnora Pennington, Gladys Pennington, Mary Weight, Venice Beal and Afton Clark. |
