Show Hews This Week From Brookside Reporters: Janelene Snelson, Suzanne Taylor, and Lynette Riding. In Miss Murray's Second grade we are studying about the First Thanksgiving. We have made a pretty mural about the First Thanksgiving and about the Thanksgiving of today. We are getting to be good readers too. In Mrs. LeRoy's Second grade, Bonnie Gay Woodward and Diane Thorn had birthdays birth-days last week. They both brought treats to the class. Kaye Danielson had her ton- that some good will come of this. A week ago we had George Pitts, "Uncle George" in a program of magic and ventriloquism. ven-triloquism. We very much enjoyed en-joyed this show. On the day he was here the children who ordinarily come to kindergarten kindergar-ten at noon came at 10:00. Last Saturday, Mr. Frand-sen, Frand-sen, Mr. Hanks, Mr. Patten and Mr. Brockbank attended a conference in Salt Lake at University Uni-versity of Utah in the subject of education of the gifted students. stu-dents. They had a fine conference. confer-ence. Most of the teachers from Brookside attended a conference con-ference at BYU in Provo on the subject of teacher .training. They also enjoyed the day. Miss Davis received another training teacher last week. She is Miss Suellen Affleck, Ogden. sils out last week. Gay Pabst and Gail Hickman have had measles. We have a new training train-ing teacher, Margaret Kohler from Midway. She is helping us study about Indians. It is very interesting and we are having fun. We are learning songs and dances. For the past two weeks the Brookside school has been holding parent and teacher conferences. With a half dozen exceptions, the parents have been at school and the parent and teacher has discussed the work of the child. We hope |
