Show UTAH FUGITIVE CAUGHT IN PUEBLO Special to The Tribune. PROVO, Oct. 31. Sheriff J. T. Williams Wil-liams has received a telegram from S. E. Thomas, sheriff at Pueblo, Colo., stating stat-ing that Joseph Cardiuelll, who is wanted by the Utah county sheriff for alleged embezzlement, is now in the county jail at Pueblo and admits having committed the crime of which lie Is charged. Cardiuelli had charge of a gang of laborers working for the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad company near Colton which had received credit to the amount of $S00 from Orin Elmer, a merchant of Colton, through Cardiuelli. On pay day Cardiuelli kept the money with which to pay the merchant out of the checks of the laborers, but instead of paying it' to Elmer he absconded with the money. The telegram to Sheriff Williams states that Cardiuelli has agreed to return to IT tah without requisition papers. A local officer will go to Pueblo within a few days to bring Cardiuelli here for trial. |
