Until this year the controlling con-trolling organization was the Interstate Trapshootlng association. In this classification 'the states, are grouped together that show about the same amount of interest in the sport. Interest is based on the number of participants par-ticipants in registered trapshootlng tournaments. tour-naments. It Is necessary to make this classification because the American Trapshooting association contributes thousands of dollars each year to the state championship trapshooting tournaments, tourna-ments, and quite naturally it gives the most money where the most interest Is. Class A states will . receive $165 in cash and trophies; class B states, 140; class C states. $115, and class D states, $90. About two-thirds of this money is used to purchase prizes for the regular events and one-third to furnish a trophy for the winner of the state championship champion-ship title and for class shooting. In every state championship tournament tourna-ment in which fifty or more residents participate there will be four classes. A, B, C and D, and under fifty residents three classes, A, B and C. The high gun in each class over the entire program pro-gram of targets will be given a trophy. With four classes the classification will be: Class A 92 per cent and over. Class B8S to 01. Class CS4 to ST. Class D under S4. The arrangement for three classes will 'be: Class A SO per cent and over. Class B S5 to 90. Class C under So. If a state association desires a higher classification than it now enjoys, it may apply to the A. T. A. for a reclassification reclassifica-tion on the basis of Increased trapshooting trapshoot-ing interest. Such application should be accompanied by facts and figures to substantiate sub-stantiate the claims made. State Title at 300 Targets.
