Show 111TS OUT M SflLT LIES D. H. Riker, President of Breeders' Association, Under Charges. Special to The Tribune. SAN FRANCISCO, March 27.-Local warrants were issued today for the arrest of D. H. Rlker, president and promoter of tho Associated Swine Breeders of Salt Lake City and San Francisco. Rlker lias disappeared. The warrant charges him wilfi violating- section 113 of the nenal code, which provides against destroying, falsifying or otherwise mishandling the books of a corporation. It 'is alleged by the stale authorities here that important pages have been removed re-moved from the company's books:. Riker also operated under the name of the Ranch Loan & Finance company. It is believed that more than 300 investors representing rep-resenting about $100,000 are involved in the failures of Kiker's two corporations. (.'haunccy Tramutolo, assistant United States attorney, will present the case oc-fore oc-fore the federal grand jury in an investigation investi-gation of Hiker's alleged use of the mails to dafraud. It Is further alleged that Riker has left behind him a trail of bad checks. A petition in involuntary bankruptcy was recently filed against the Associated Swine Breeders by three creditors, the Commercial Printing company, the Acme Lithograph company and Joost Brothers. Itiker came here from St. Louis early in January, according to the police He has not been seer, locally since March 15. Riker's Salt Lake offico was at room 70, Deseret Bank building. On the door are the names of both the Associated Swine Breeders and the- Ranch Loan & Finance company, with F. w. Gillette as Salt Lake representative of the concerns Neither Riker nor Gillette could be located. lo-cated. Gillette left town several davs ago, telling others in. the building that iie was going to San Francisco. Both Riker and Gillette had become slightly acquainted with men in the next door office of the United Securities Securi-ties corporation. It was thought by one of . these that Riker was in Salt "Lak about ten days ago. saying that ho was er, route to Chicago. Riker had occasionally stopped at the New-house hotel, where he had gained a reputation of a man of means who was a most liberal spender. He had left no forwarding address.
