Show TilllC T0I1GE IS LESS WW AGO Average Is Good, However, When It Is Considered Only Best Ore Is Shipped. Special to The Tribune. EUREKA, July 6. During the first six months o 1918 the mines of the Tintic district have shipped a total of 4547 carloads car-loads of ore, or about 227,350 tons. These figures are somewhat below those of 1917, when for the first six months nearly near-ly 5500 carloads were sent out. If the mines are able to maintain their present average production, the total for the entire en-tire vear of 191S should be about 9094. This 'is considered a good average wnen it is considered that in most all cases only the best grade of ore has been marketed mar-keted Last year the total production was 10 029, over 50,000 tons more, estimated, than will be produced this year. This decrease in production is general throughout the district, and is not due to anv one property falling down in shipments. ship-ments. Last year there was a total of forty-nine mines in the shipping list, while so far this year there are only fThe Dragon Consolidated Is leading again this year with 890 carloads, and the Chief Consolidated is next m line, with 659. Although the Dragon has shipped considerably more ore, it is not to be compared with the Chief as a money maker, as a good portion of the dirt coming from the former mine is an iron product, while practically all of that coming from the Chief has been a good grade of ore. The Iron Blossom, Eagle and Blue Bell. Mammoth, Tintic Standard Stand-ard Centennial Eureka and Grand Central Cen-tral are also well up to the front.
