Show j UNITED STATES SURVEY SUPERVISOR BUYS TWO NASH TRUCKS To replace the mule power that has heretofore been the reliance of the men engaged in running general line surveys for Uncle Sam in Utah and Nevada, two powerful Nash one-ton trucks were recently re-cently purchased of the United Motor Car company by O. D. D. Kirkpatrick, assistant assist-ant supervisor of survey of the United States general land office. ; The two Nash trucks are the first unit i of a big fleet of trucks for the use of this j department, and will be given a thorough 1 tryout. They are to make from sixty to eighty miles each day over all manner of roads and trails and It is confidently expected ex-pected that the two power wagons will take the place of several mule teams. The absence of the mules wilt not be grieved over by the men who do the surveying, as they are a constant source of annoyance and work, while all that will be necessary with the trucks will be to keep them well supplied with oil and gasoline, which they can haul themselves and let them hit the trails over sand dunes and desert stretches. Nash quality and Nash reliability are fixed factors with the United States. For months the Nash factory has been turning turn-ing out light and heavy power wagons for use by the United States army at home and abroad. Mr. Kirkpatrick of the general gen-eral land office is but following the lead of higher officials in placing Nash trucks in service. |
