WITH the Boy Scouts on the job early tomorrow morning canvassing can-vassing the downtown business busi-ness district, arrangements for which have been made through the Business Men's alliance, it is cxrJected that standing room at the tabernacle tomorrow night on the occasion of the appearance of the 145th field artillery band will be at a premium. Bandmaster Clarence J". Hawkins has announced that his program will be the most elaborate of any he has prepared while on tour, and that he has used all his ingenuity to offer an evening's entertainment en-tertainment to Salt Lakers which will never be forgotten in the history of local musical offerings. It is explained by those in charge of the appearance of the band in Salt Lake, that, inasmuch as all the money received from the sales of the tickets is for the benefit of each and every member of the 145th field artillery, it wall be advisable for persons who cannot can-not hear the concert to purchase tickets anyway. Seats all over the house will sell for 50 cents. The itinerary of the band for the week is announced as follows: ' Salt Lake tabernacle, July 8: Bingham, July 9; Lehi, July 10; Park City, July 11. Following this a liberty psriod of five davs will be given the musicians. This will give them a good opportunity to visit their friends and relatives without interference of duties connected connect-ed with the band duties. They will return re-turn to Camp Kearny soon after the 24th of July. At Logan last night the band was greeted with an enthusiastic, crowd. It Ts believed their guarantee of $750 was slightly exceeded. Two concerts were given, a matinee and evening. In the evening the tabernacle was not able to hold the crowds and an open-air concert con-cert was given. |
