Calonge of this city has received re-ceived his commission as a captain in the medical corps of the United States army and will enter upon active duties at once. Dr. Calonge has resided in Salt Lake for the last four years, during which time he has been connected with the staff of St. Mark's hospital. At present he is secretary of the staff of thnt institution. The new medical officer has been assigned as-signed to duty at Fort Riley. Kan., and is expecting orders for overseas duty within the near future. He will leave here for Fort Riley about November 1 next.
