Show HADDOCK TO ATTEND LABOR CONFERENCE Utah. Keprcsentative Going to Denver Meeting in Co-ordination of Labor Reserve in Western States. Lou J. Haddock was appointed yesterday yes-terday by F. 0. Richmond to represent tho Salt Lake Commercial club at a conference of the heads of federal labor bureaus to be held iu Denver, Colo., next Thursday. The conference "will have for its purpose the co-ordinating of the federal labor reserve with the general federal employment system, and will result in the creation of local labor boards in the larger cities of the west to meet labor emergencies. In Salt Lake the labor board will co-operate with the public service "working reserve, re-serve, of which P. J. Mo ran is the state director. At the Denver meeting committees will be appointed, consisting of representatives repre-sentatives of the government, employers employ-ers and labor in various communities. I Such committees will be augmented by 1 the appointment of a member representing represent-ing the employers of each particular locality. At the call of the stato director iu each community every available man will be enrolled that lie may be assigned as-signed to work in the particular line in which he is skilled as emergency arises. All matters pertaining to the labor situation, with a view to relieving congestion con-gestion in some places and a lack of labor in others, will be discussed and plans adopted to meet the situation. i |
