'I'll) records of the police and sheriff's depart men Is show that twenty -three machines have been stolen since last Saturday, and that at leaat ten of these, when recovered, were found to have been "stripped" in whole or in part, after having hav-ing been taken for the purpose, either cm (side the city limits or into remote sections of the city. Through the activities of officers of hot h departments, all but two of the stolen cars have been recovered; not, however, be-fore about half of them had been "stripped" of most of their accessories, acces-sories, while several others, when located. were found to have been badly damaged as a result of reckless driving: and collisions col-lisions with various objects. Baron, Boulevard apartments; C. A. Quigley, 33 Exchange place; L. E. Nicholas, $51 East South Temple; R. V. Avcson, 776 Second avenue; ave-nue; John Anderson, 3 947 South West Temple: R. Y. Gibson, 102 North Main; R. G. Abbey, Ivanhoe apartments; Paul Stegich. 1 063 First avenue; F. W. Huber, Hotel Utah; E. W. Cannady, Newhouse hotel;' Erin Howard, Murray;. T. C Forte 4113 South Third East, Murrav; Star Laundry company, 902 Jefferson street; Chevtolet Motor company, 141 East First South, and the Franklin Motor company, ?;! East South Temple street. The Cannady and Gibson cars are said to be still missing, while in the case of the Jenson machine it is known that at least one of the parties that stole the auto was a woman, according to Mr Jenson, whose car was "stripped" even to the cushions when recovered in the Warm Springs neightrorhood. Mrs. Gilmer's Gil-mer's ear was recovered vesterday bv Deputy Sheriff A. M. J. Prichard. who located it near Wclby, Utah, with a wheel torn off and otherwise in badlv damaged condition, and "stripped" of everytliing that was movable. The car had apparently ap-parently been driven into a telegraph post. Mr. Baron's car was recovered in the Murray neighborhood, and had evidently collided with a horse as tufts of horsehair and hide were found cling-fefders cling-fefders bHdly bent radiator and The Borquist car was found at Grang-er stripped of all movables, while the Uastleman machine was located several aays ago in Emigration canyon In similar sim-ilar condition.
