Show EAGER TO PROTECT MORALS OF YOUNG Judge C. M. Nielsen of the Juvenile Court Holds Important Conference Confer-ence at Provo. Special to The Tribune. rROVO. duly 19. Judge C. M. Nielsen Niel-sen of the juvenile court was here today meeting with the motion picture theater thea-ter proprietors of the county for the purpose of enlisting their co-operation iu eliminating objectionable pictures and in other matters which will prove helpful to the juvenile court authorities authori-ties in their efforts to prevent delinquencies delin-quencies among the youn. .tut! ;;e Nielsen called attention to the fact that many children received their first impulse to steal and hursilarize from seeini: the pictures of criminals in the roles of heroes'i He also deprecated i i i i i i i rir 1 1 1 tu 1 1 ii ttt cinq" """'j the attendance of children unattended by older persons at late shows, which resulted iu their being on the streets at a late hour, and sometimes not reaching reach-ing their homes till some time in the morning and sometimes not at all that night. He suggested that it would be a great help if the picture house proprietors would refuse to sell for the late shows to children not chaperoned. The picture house proprietors indicated indi-cated a willingness to assist in the ways suggested by Judge Nielsen. Probation Proba-tion Officers D. H. Koper. Karl J. Thomson and Mrs. Everett Richmond and Mrs. Martha A. T. iveeler,' representing repre-senting the women's organizations of the city, were at the meeting and took part in the consideration of the matters mat-ters considered. Judge Nielsen and the probation officers of-ficers also considered the attendance of - unchaperoned boys and girls at dances and at the resorts, from which they return at late hours, and measures will be taken to prevent or minimize this condition. |
