Show OGDEN MAN BITTEN BY A VICIOUS DOG It Is Not Believed, However, That the Animal Is Suffering With Rabies. Special to The Tribune. OGDEX, Jan. 26. George C. Chandler, Chand-ler, residing at 2748 Adam avenue, while going to his work at 7 o'clock this niorniug was bitten on the hand by a vicious dog, which was at first believed to have the rabies. As soon as he was attacked Mr. Chandler went to the police station and reported the matter to the officers and then received re-ceived medical attention. Deputies from the health office and the police department were detailed to search for the dog. At 3 o'clock the dog was found in the southeast part of the city and was captured and turned over to the dog catcher. George Shorten, sanitary inspector, in-spector, stated after he had assisted in the capture of the dog that, iu his opinion, the dog did not have the rabies. He said the dog was in the habit of snapping at people passing along the sidewalk and when he grabbed Mr. Chandler by the hand he hung on with his teeth until the flesh had been badly lacerated. The dog will be held for a few davs for a study of the symptoms if any may exist. It will then be disposed of. |
