Show 01. TUTTLE RECEIVES K'SjMTION Formal Final Action on Utah Bishop's Case Comes in April. Special to The Tribune. ST. LOUIS, Mo.. Jan. 26. Bishop Daniel Dan-iel S. Tuttle of the Presbyterian church today received the formal resignation of the Rt. Rev. Paul Jones as bishop of Utah, and wrote Bishop Jones accepting accept-ing it. Final action on the resignation will be taken up by the house of bishops at a meeting in New York on April 10, but its acceptance by Dr. Tuttle, the ranking bishop, leaves Bishop Jones without power pow-er in his diocese. A committee cf bishops met in St. Jxjuis a month ago and found Bishop Jones guilty of having uttered pacific sentiments senti-ments not in keeping with the government policy. At a meeting in Los Angeles laf-t October he audresseil a meeting of Socialists So-cialists and declared the United states should not have entered the war with Germany. The extreme views of the bishop were considered to have impaired his usefulness useful-ness in iiis dioeepc and it was decided to :t-k his resignation.
