Show Grain Ship Fired. AN ATANT1C PORT, Jan. CiS. Loaded with war supplies for the Italian army, some of them highly inflammabie, a ten-thousand-ton American munition steam- ship, armed fore and aft and making ready to sail. c3ueht fire today from an I unknown source while tied up at her pier. Fire boats deluged the ship and more damage was done by water than by fire. The loss is not yet computed, but will he heavy. The fire was kept from the inflammable and explosive portions of tho cargo. The fire was discovered by workmen. work-men. The naval gun crew at once shut ot'f portions of the cargo and aided the crew in subduing the fire. |
