PLEASANT, Feb. 6; The executive execu-tive committee of the Mt. Pleasant chapter, chap-ter, American Red Cross, has selected Professor C. L. Johns, principal of TVa-satch TVa-satch academy, as chairman of the chapter chap-ter to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation res-ignation of Mrs. Abner Crane. As chairman chair-man of the local chapter, Mrs. Crane has successfully conducted the affairs of the chapter since its organization last June, and it is with regret that the local chapter chap-ter has accepted her resignation. Before the Christmas membership drive, which increased the membership from sixty to S50. the local chapter had sent 250 dozen bandages and fifty Christmas Christ-mas boxes to the Denver headquarters, fifty pounds of candy to Mt. Pleasant boy's now in the service, 100 knitted wash cloths, seventeen pairs of socks, seventeen scarfs, twenty-two sweaters and one complete knitted set. consisting of sweater, scarf, helmet and socks for each of the boys. The chapter feels that with this much accomplished with only sixty members, Infinitely more good can be done with the large increase. The chapter now has members in every town and city In north Sanpete. Extensive preparations are now under way for the .iunior Red Cross drive, which will begin - ebruary 12 under the supervision of Superintendent J. W. Andersen, An-dersen, who will be aided by J. Elmer Johansen. Mt. Pleasant: James Y. Blain, Spring City: A. H. Andersen, Moroni; Hener S. Olson. Falrview, and J. T. Christensen, Fountain Green. The executive execu-tive committee of the local cbapter now consists of Professor C. L. Johns, chairman; chair-man; Mrs. Abner Crane, first vice, chairman: chair-man: Mrs. R. I... Madsen. second vice chairman: Ainaa Aldrich. secretary, and Miss Hilda Madsen, treasurer. The chapter chap-ter Is now awaiting a visit on February 9 from Mrs. Louis of the Denver headquarters, head-quarters, who will be here on that date to give instructions in the work now most needed and most pressing for the army.
