Alfredo De Oro overcame a 12-point lead and defeated Augie Ivieckhefer of Chicago, 50 to 42, tonight in the rirst block of their match for the world's three-cushion billiard championship. De Oro, apparently hopelessly hope-lessly beaten for more than half the game, played In wonderful form at the end, scoring 23 points in twenty innings. The game went sixty-five innings, De Oro getting a high run of S and Kieckhefer one of 6. De Oro was extremely nervous at the s:art and relied on his safety play to pull him through, but the Chicagoan 1 made one phenomenal shot afyer another j from apparently impossible leaves and at 1 the fortieth inning led, 34 to 22.
