Show 4 : I Wyoming Oil Notes 1- The following report of activities in the Wyoming oil fields is furnished by the Wyoming-Montana Oil exchange of Casper. Cas-per. After manv delays and much discussion as to the probable abandonment of the first hole drilled by the Premier company, com-pany, it is now unofficially reported that the hole is in good shape and drilling is again under way. Collapsed casing at the bottom of the hole has caused much trouble and for a time it was feared that the well was entirely lost. Everv day fresh information arrives from Maverick Springs district, giving evidence of big activities about to begin in this new territory. The Carter Oil companv now has ten carloads of drilling drill-ing material on the w-ay. Upon arrival it will be sent immediately to the field and the drilling of the wells will begin as promptly as possible. The Cheno company, com-pany, one of the prominent operating companies In this district, reports favorable favor-able progress on its well. Norbeck -Nicholson well No. 1, located in Old Woman field, northeast of Lusk, has come in by itself. Last fall operations opera-tions were suspended owing to the lack of water, with the drill just about to tap the cap rock. Last week the oil broke through the thin covering and flowed freelv over the top of the casing. Latest reports coming in from the field seem to indicate that the Republic companv com-panv is operating in a rich oil spot. Spurts of oil are encountered frequently as the drill opens up each formation. The Allies Oil company has everything ready for the spudding in of the first hole in the Sand Draw country. Kig and material are now on the ground and it will only be a few days before the drill Is pounding its way to production. After manv delays, Jupiter, operating on section 4, West Salt Creek, commenced com-menced drilling Saturday. The well will be drilled jointly with the United Petroleum Petro-leum company on Jupiter ground, and directlv adjoins the United Petroleum's holdings. All material is on the ground and no more delays should be experienced. expe-rienced. The first rig preparatory to expensive expen-sive drilling operations has been unloaded unload-ed at Riverton by the Wyoming Stellar. Rig and material will be freighted to the holdings on Beaver creek, fourteen miles from Riverton. This company also has holdings at Willow' Creek in the Lander field, and will soon ship a rig to this location. |
