Show IDAHO CAR SHORTAGE BECOMING SERIOUS POCATELLO, Idaho. Sept. 2S. The car shortage in Idaho is more serious than people realize, according to development. The Oregon Short Line officials declare that they are short 74S cattle cars. The railroad company has reported to the public utilities commission that it is behind be-hind its orders in Idaho to the number of 74S cars for the transportation of livestock. The road also has orders for more than fifty grain cars for the west end and has only thirty -five on hand. Northern orders are for thirty-seven cars with only twenty-seven on hand for the transportation transpor-tation of grain. Grain storage facilities in Idaho are inadequate for even one-third one-third of the yield, and right now marketing market-ing problems axe confronting the people of the state. A call for help from the Ashton harvest fields was received by Fedora! Employment Employ-ment Agent P. K. Ixmg yesterday. The farmers are asking for teams to aid in the harvest hi thru section, and the local government is using every- effort to secure se-cure men and teams to send north. |
