Show YOUTHFUL DESERTER VM IN TIE TOILS Edward L, Richardson, 18, Is Recaptured After a Long Chase. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, Sept. 28. Kdward L. Richardson, Rich-ardson, 18 years of age, deserter from tho United States army, and much soupht after by the civilian as well as military officers of three stateu, waa brought to O'deu early this morning bv Sheriff H. C. Peterson and Deputy Sheriff Dick "Wootton from Snowville, where liichnrdson was arrested by Constable Con-stable A. Peterson. In the arrest of Richardson, the officers of-ficers have caught the man they have been using unusual vigilance to capture. In addition to deserting from the army, Richardson is alleged to have obtained much money in Ogdcn from fictitious checks, which he scattered lavishly about the city, with the Goddard Packing Pack-ing company, Continental Oil company, .loseph Bingham and Alma Peterson of Huntsvillo as his victims. A few weeks ago Richardson fame to Ogden and surrendered to the local army recruiting officer as a deserter. He said that he wanted to go back to San Francisco and "face the music." Ho was placed in cliargo of a guard and was started for the coast. At Rnsedale, Cal., he escaped from the guard at night by slipping his handcuffs. hand-cuffs.
