Show GOVEHR'WIII I THIRD LIBERTY LOAN Executive Consents to Extensive Ex-tensive Speaking Tour of Utah. Governor Bamberger yesterday consented con-sented to mako a speaking tour of L'tah in behalf of the third Liberty loan. The governor will spend the time from March 18 to May 1 on the tour. A request that the chief executive be one of an army of speakers to be sent throughout the country before issuance issu-ance of the Liberty loan bonds, was received by Governor Bamberger from Charles F. Horner, director of the speakers' bureau at Washington, D. C, which has charge of this activity in connection with the third drive. The call upon the governor was quicklv and willingly responded to in a tele'gram to Mr. "Horner, in which the executive expressed great pleasure at being given tho opportunity to do his part in this manner. The governor explains that he is more than delighted with this opportunity oppor-tunity to show his appreciation for all that this country has done for him. The itinerary of the executive has not been worked out, but he expects to visit every section of the state during the tour and wull address audiences in behalf of the Liberty loan in most of the larger and most important centers of almost every county. The third loan will be called in April and it is planned to have the people well prepared for it by an exhaustive ex-haustive campaign of speaking and other forms of publicity to be conducted conduct-ed throughout the countrv for some time prior to the issuance of the official call. In this manner it is expected to get a prompt and generous response. To stimulate competition among the various cities in the matter of subscribing sub-scribing to the loan, each city which exceeds its quota on the third call is to receive a handsome American flag, which it may proudly display from some prominent place. |
