The meeting was held for the purpose of arousing greater enthusiasm lth repp".-1 to enlistment and the purchase of thrift stamps. Q. B. Kelly, president ol the Commercial club and the town board, presided, and the principal speakers were Sercreant J. I- Wilson and H. Cole Evans ( of Salt Lake. .wereeant Wilson entertainingly dis-ci:sed dis-ci:sed the ?reat war and how the United States became Involved in it. and urged all men between the aces of IS and 21 and 30 and 40 to enlist. He also denounced de-nounced those who have attempted to deceive the recruiting officers with respect re-spect to their ages in order to escape sen Ice. Mr. Evans devoted the srreater portion of his time to the importance of food conservation, and urtred that the American Ameri-can people should economize In every possible wav in order to assist France and Great Britain. He also urged the preat Importance of aiding the government govern-ment through the purchase of thrift stamps.
