Show ALLRED IS WINNER IN MEDAL CONTEST Sons of American Revolution Hold Competition at Utah Agricultural Agricul-tural College, Logan. A Salt Lake delegation of the Utah Society of the Sons of the American Revolution attended the annual contest con-test at the Utah Agricultural college at Logan yesterday for the medal presented present-ed annually by the society for the best essay on patriotism. Thatcher AUred, one of the four - student competitors, won the verdict of the judges, and wa3 awarded the handsome medal in a graceful address by D. S. Spencer of this city- , j, j All the contestants handled their subjects remarkably well, it was reported. re-ported. The judges were Attorney E. 0 Lee, D. R. Gray, Gordon L. Hutch-ins, Hutch-ins, Rev. Edwin Lewis and C. P. Over-field. Over-field. The Salt Lake representation of the society in attendance was composed com-posed of President George A. Smith, Mayor W. Mont Ferry E. O. Lee and Messrs. Hutchins, Overfield, and Spencer. The party was entertained at dinner by Dr. E. G. Peterson, president presi-dent of the college. |
