Show KAISER SENDS CONGRATULATIONS ON RUSS PEACE AMSTERDAM, March 6. Emperor William telegraphed a message Of congratulation con-gratulation to Field Marshal von Hin-denburg Hin-denburg on the "glorious conclusion of the war on the eastern front." The telegram, tele-gram, quoted in a Berlin dispatch, says: "Now the costly prize of victory in the long struggle is in our hands. Our Baltic Bal-tic brethren and countrymen are liberated liber-ated from Russia's yoke and may again feel themselves Germans. God was with us and will continue to aid us." The emperor's telegram of congratulation congratula-tion to King Frederick August of Saxony in the same connection reads "I feel the greatest gratitude toward God and the army, which has extorted this peace. The east front now having become free, we have made an enormous j step forward. Firmly trusting in the ! sword, I face a future which will after all j heavy sacrifices bring us victory and a strong peace." |
