Soldiers passing through this city today were not forgotten forgot-ten by the Red Cross canteen committee but were met and entertained in an extraordinary manner. All troops passing through the city nre a ail times well fed at the local canteen, but todav being Thanksgiving day the boys were treated to a real Thanksgiving dinner, served in the best way possible during the comparatively short time that the trains stopped here. Mrs. Hnnanah Ash. known In tho canteen can-teen work as the "mother" of the soldier sol-dier boys, took personal charge of the canteen today, and supervised tho feeding of the hungry boys as they came In on tho various trains during the dav. The menu consisted of turkey, mashed potatoes, pota-toes, gravy, cranberry sauce, hot mince pics. etc. The canteen reports a daily average of twenty-five men passing through from northwestern camps to their homes in various parts of the county. The Indians of the Fort Hall reservation reserva-tion were not forgotten either, jt has become an annual custom with the sp-ortsmcn of the city to devote a day before Thanksgiving to shooting ducks for the Indians of the reservation, and yestei day's bag by the men who went out hunting amounted to about 200 duck" Prominent among those in the hunting pnrty were Mayor A.
