A., which took place November 4 in New York, is of interest in Salt Lake, since Mrs. Orton made her home at Fort Douglas Doug-las with her parents in her early girlhood. girl-hood. The Graves family was popular in Salt Lake society. Major Sydney Graves, who lias recently been appointed on his lather's staff after service on the western front, at the recommendation of General J'ershing, was p West Point cadet at the time the family made their home here. The marriage of Miss Ruth Johnson of Mil ford and John J. Sanford of Richfield took place Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the parsonage of Phillips Congregational Congregation-al church. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. P. A. Simpkin. The couple are now at home at the Richmond apartments. apart-ments. The marriage of Miss Belva West, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin West of Pleasant Grove, and Alvin Duke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Heber Duke of Provo, will occur today at the home of the bride. The Red Cross auxiliary of the Ladies' Literary club will meet today for all day sewing. The gauze room will be closed until further notice. The Red Cross auxiliary of Lloyd alliance alli-ance will meet from 10 until 4 o'clock at Unity hall. The Red Cross auxiliary of the Catholic Woman's lea true will meet this afternoon at Amelia" palace for gauze work. Brown of 2-"S3 Fern avenue, who has been confined to a local hospital on account of illness, is convalescing and expects to be out soon. The Rev. and Mrs. Ward Winter Reese have gone to their ranch in Tremonton to spend two weeks. |
