Another day's man-h of the American Third army into territory evacuated hy the Germans was reported today by General I'ershing In Ids (,'ominnnique for Monday. "On the left, crossing the Belgian frontier, our troops occui'ied Virton and by evening had reached Ktalle and St. Leger. Between the elders :ind the Moselle, they passed through Spin.-ourt and the important railroad centers of Longuvon and ( 'nnflans. "At the Hose !' the day they entered the historic Kictich fortress of I.ong-Wy, situated at the junction of the boundaries of Krance, Belgium and Bnxemhurg. Further south thev have occupied Audun-!e-Roman and the town of I'.ricv. the center of t lie great iron district of Lorraine." |
