The president always has selection of his two counselors. As a consequence. they cease to hold office simultaneously with his demise. Automatically, S ! therefore, .Presidents Authon H. Lund and Charles W. Penrose, respee- S tively first and second counselors to President Smith, are no longer in ? those positions. The new president will select his own counselors. ' Church precedent places the council of twelve apostles temporarily at S tho head of the organization. Of this quorum Apostle Heber J. Grant is 5 !; president and now becomes the acting president of the church. Next in lino ? for lhc presidency of the church are Anthon IT. Lund, Rudgor C'lawson and ' liecd bmoot, in the order Darned. His acting presidency of the church is by I reason of his presidency of the council of twelve apostles, and his presidency 5 3; of the apostles' quorum is by virtue of the seniority of his induction into ?
