J ames VTa idle, retired, 76 years of age, long a resident of Midvale, died at his home today alter an illness of three weeks. Mp. Wardle was born in Leicestershire, England, and joined the Mormon church when a boy. He came to Utah with the Robinson handcart company In 1SC0. This company had a perilous trip, running out of .supplies and being threatened with starvation. A supply train sent by President Presi-dent Brigham Young relieved them. Mr. Wardle liVed at South Jordan for thirteen years alter coming to Utah, but since that time had made his home in Mid vale. He is survived hy a widow, Mary Dick-, son Wardle: three sons, three daughters, seventeen grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at the Midvale ward chapel Sunday at 12 o'clock noon. Interment will be in South Jordan Jor-dan cemetery. |
