Show GRANT POWER CO. CAPACITY INCREASE Southern Utah Power Company Will Install In-stall Equipment for Town of Panguitch. "With a view of immediately increasing its power output and eventually to enlarge en-large it to l2,000 horsepower, the Southern South-ern Utah Power company, L. L. Nunii, president, has applied for and received from the state public utilities commission commis-sion the first certificate of convenience and necessity issued by the state of Utah. Details of the items included in the permit follow: Installation of a 100-hoi'HCpower 100-hoi'HCpower generator on Panguitch creek and a distributing system for the town of Panguitch; a power line from Beaver station to Marysvale and a power pow-er line from Sevier to that town, together to-gether with a distributing system for Marysvale; a line to the Deer Trail mine to convey 300 horsepower. Later the company is to ask for a certificate for a 2500-horsepower plant just below its present works near Beaver. Bea-ver. It is now developing 3500 horsepower horse-power there and the contemplated certificate cer-tificate will bring the product up to (J000 horsepower. By building a dam and forming a storage svstem the company com-pany expects to eventually increase its power output to 12,000 horsepower. It is also planning extensions to Milford and Newhuse and into the Lincoln mining district. Stipulations in the present certificate are that th'e power lines shall be erected over private rights of way and that they shall be constructed in a good and workmanlike manner and in accordance with proper and reasonable standards of safety. |
