Show KNIGHTS TEMPLAR TOAST THE HOLIDAY Aiuiual Observance Held in Temple by Utah Commandery Christmas Day. Reading of the sentiment for Christmas, Christ-mas, prepared by the committee on Christmas observance, appointed by the grand encampment of Knights Templar of the United States, and the response by Lee S. Smith, grand master, formed a part of the Christmas programme of Utah commandery No. 1, Knights Templar, yesterday morning. Among other sentiments touching upon the war, the message said: "Ours is a peace-loving order, and we have thought that the days of barbarism and brutality were of the past and belonged be-longed to the dark ages, but not so. All accounts of fiendish brutality caused by the savages and barbarians of pa-st ages pale Into insignificance in comparison to the enactments of our enemies across the sea. who have brought on this awful holocaust, of brutal war." The support of the fraternity to the government Is pledged. The program mo at Salt Lake, as that in the comma nderles over the country, consisted of addresses and vocal and instrumental in-strumental music. The programme was: Invocation, by the Right Eminent Sir Samuel Paul; Christmas carols, choir; participation in toast and response; "Sing, O Heavens," quarette, Mrs. A. LI.
