Show FAVORABLE REPORT MADE BY PHILLIPS Developments at the Lehi Tintic Declared De-clared to Be of Most Eeassur- ing Character. A highly favorable report of recent development de-velopment at the Lehi Tintic was biouglit to Salt Iike yesterday by Foreman Fore-man Phillips, who came in from the North Tintic property for the holidays. The two strikes reported recently when the Empire -etn was cut. he says, have developed some high -grade, lead-silver ore in shipping quantities, and approximately lOitn sacks of ore are now on the dump awaiting movement to the smelter. The miners upraised on the strike for a few feet. and. failing to find a larger body of high grade, then began sinking it winze, which is now down about ten feet, and the ore is steadily growing richer with depth. On one strike the vein opened so far shows a width of from eighteen inches to four feet, and samples of the high grade have given assays of S-.7 per cent lead and 27. 2 ounces silver to the ton. On the other vein, which has developed to a width of four feet, assays of average samples have given values of 59 per cent lead and 30. ti ounces silver. Samples taken indiscriminately from a dozen sacks of ore on the dump gave a erase values of 17 per cent lead and S ounces siU er. I'espire the good showing in the present pres-ent workings. Manager George Nieholes is of the opinion that the big body of high-grade ore will not be encountered for a distance of another 150 feet to the 1101 til. |
