Show ORPHANAGE CHILDREN HAVE TURKEY DINNER Senator and Mrs. Thomas Kearns and Other Citizens Contribute to Happi-. Happi-. uess of Christmas. Children of the Kearns St. Ann's orphanage or-phanage were given a turkey dinner yesterday yes-terday aa guests of former Senator and Mrs. Thomas Kearns. several others also contributing to the pleasure of wards of that institution. Fifty-two children were seated at the table and afterwards enjoyed the programme pro-gramme given, which consisted of an address ad-dress by Miss Pearl Lewis; duet, Miss Mary Johnston and Miss Mary Strauss; song, boys of the orphanage; recitation, girls of the orphanage; duet. Miss Rosie Oliva and Miss Edith Guarenti; recitation, recita-tion, boys of the orphanage; playlet, "Santa Claus," and a closing chorus by the children. Those who contributed to the feast, besides be-sides Senator and Mrs. Kearns. were Mrs. F. J. McGanney, ice cream and cake; J. E. CosgriCf, honey; A. C. Sullivan, oranges; or-anges; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur L. Thomas. Jr., candy; Mrs. K. H. O'Brien, fruit; Mrs. J. J. Neville, flowers; Vienna and Excelsior Ex-celsior bakeries, cakes; Mrs. L. b. Mc-Cornlck Mc-Cornlck and Sweet Candy company, candies; can-dies; Greenewald Furniture company, toys; Sister Superior M. Benita of Holy Cross hospital, two statues for the altar; Mrs. F. J. Moran, flowers for the altar; Mrs. John McDonald, flowers. In addition to giving the dinner Senator Sen-ator and Mrs. Kearns supplied a Christmas Christ-mas gift package for each of the children of the orphanage. |
