At a. meeting of the Salt Lake City Real Estate association held in th'e Commercial club yesterday, President C. Clarence Neslen presiding, Edward M. Ashton addressed tho members on ''Housing.' Mr. Ashton spoke of the safeguards in construction of buildings and of their urgent need, especially in the matter of sufficient light and ventilation. venti-lation. Mr. Ashton advocated the use of more ground in present day construction con-struction to prevent congestion and heretofore, unsanitary conditions. To look into the matter and report at a later meeting a committee was appointed, appoint-ed, consisting of Stayner Richards, chairman; William Leaker and Edward M. Ashton. A committee consisting of Edward M. Ashton, George M. Cannon, Claude Richards, Earl Dunshee and Harold La-fouut La-fouut was appointed to bring up before the next legislature the question of parking, park-ing, the improving of streetH in Salt Lake, the trees and grass and the general gen-eral appearance of the city from a landscape land-scape standpoint. Edward M. Afhton was selected as representative of the organization to attend the semi-annual meeting of the National Real Estate Boards, to be hold in Minneapolis September 18, 19 and 20. |
