Show PROGRESSIVES WILL MEET AGAIN TODAY After a recess of two weeks, the Progressive Pro-gressive congressional convention of t lie Second district will meet this afternoon to again take up the question of ratifying the nomination of James H. Mays as the fusion candidate to succeed himself in congress. The convention will meet this afternoon at o'clock in the courtroom of JuciKe T. D. .Lewis in the city and county building. At two former meetings held for the same purpose there seemed such a difference dif-ference of opinion as to what action should be taken that adjournment was taken In each case to permit the opposing oppos-ing factions to get together, if possible. The faction favoring Mr. Mays appears to have gained some strength and in all probability his nomination will be ratified rati-fied at today's meeting. The leaders of' the opposing faction, some of them, at least, refuse to sanction such action and threaten to bolt the ticket to the extent ex-tent of throwing their support to Charles R. Mabey, the Republican congressional nominee from this district. V- |
