Show 4 KILLED IH GREAT STORM III NEW YORK Heavy Property Damage ; Mercury Drops 13 Degrees De-grees in 3 Minutes. By International News Service. NEW YORK, Sept. 8. Accompanied by a sixty -mile gale, sharp lightning and a downpour of rain, a terrific storm swept over New York City and vicinity today, inflicting heavy damage and causing the death of four persons. Two boys were killed in a tent in Long Island City by lightning. The same bolt injured two others. A little girl was blown off a barge in State island sound and perished before be-fore aid could reach her. A young man Vathing was swept out into Staten island sound and drowned. The storm was at its height between 3 and 3 :30 o "cloik, following a drop of 1 3 degrees in temperature in three minutes, the mercury plunging from 00 to 77 degrees.
