Show Sway district is forging to front ' 1 Local Mining Men May Install In-stall Tractor Transportation Transporta-tion System. With new strikes being made and the tonnage to be shipped increasing as the development work is carried forward, local mining men interested in the Dugway mining district, about fifty-three miles from Faust, a station on the Salt Lake Route, are considering plans for the Installation In-stallation of caterplllaT tractors to haul the ore. It is believed that the ore can be hauled from the various properties to Faust at a cost of approximately $6 per , ton. It is now costing about $14 per ton. The Bullion Hill property will send out another shipment as soon as it can be hauled to the railroad. There are now ready for hauling 62 sacks of high-grade I ore. Average samples show that it runs better than 50 per cent In lead, 6 per i cent In copper and 30 ounces in silver to I the ton. The property Is owned by J. 1 P. Nelson, A. K. Tlernari and H. H. Green. It has been opened by a tunnel, In a distance of 125 feet, and a winze sunk on the ore body for a distance of twenty feet. The ore body has been continuous con-tinuous from the surface and varies In width from six inches to .two feet. On the Golconda property there is also exposed high-grade lead ore, from which a shipment will be sent out. The ore runs 75 per cent in lead and 4 ounces in silver to the ton. A wagon road is being be-ing built to the property. 1 Shipments are also being sent out from 1 the Laurel group, controlled bv B. L. Cutler. C. A. Swan and J. P. Nelson. The , Piedmont Mining company has resumed operations on its property. There is more activity in the district at present than there has been for years. |
