Powers of Springfield, Mass.. announce the engagement en-gagement of their daughter. Miss Frieda Powers, to Captain A. M. Pardee of the Twentlth Infantry. . Captain Pardee, who has been stationed sta-tioned at Fort Bliss, has recently received re-ceived his promotion from a first'licu-tenant first'licu-tenant to captain. Miss Powers is the only daughter of a paper manufacturer of 'Springfield and a member of an old and well-established well-established family of that state. The wedding, which will take place about November 1, will be performed at the home of the bride's parents in Springfield. Following the ceremony and a short honeymoon, the young couple will make their , home in El Paso, where Captain Pardee's com pany is at present stationed. The members of the society went to the park yesterday morning, had a picnic luncheon and an informal programme in the afternoon. after-noon.
