Show CASTRO NOT WANTED. Cipriano Castro, former president of Venezuela, has been' ordered deported for the second time. This ought to be a sufficient hint for the man who used to be able to overturn the government of his native land at will to stay away from the United States. There are enough plotters of all kinds iu this country at the present time and Castro's presence would mean the hatching of another conspiracy against Venezuela and more trouble for tho government at Washington. Venezuela has been comparatively quiet since Castro took his trip to Europe and was prevented from returning by the United States, and the country down there is much better off than it would be if he regained re-gained control of the affairs of the republic. re-public. Three years ago Castro attempted to enter the United States. He was ordered deported and an appeal to the secretary of labor denied. Then he sued out a writ of habeas corpus in the federal court. The writ was granted and Castro was permitted to land on bond pending an appeal to the federal government. Before the case could be heard lie voluntarily left the country and it was supposed he had sense enough to stay away. Like the bad penny, he turned up again, only to meet with a second rebuff, which should be final, for many years the United States was the dumping ground of undesirables from all over the world, but entrance to this country is not so easy as formerly, former-ly, and as time goes ou it will without doubt be increasingly difficult for the scum of the earth to take up their residence res-idence among us. Xo mistake has been made in the case of Castro, upon whose head lies the blood of many of his countrymen, coun-trymen, lie should seek out some remote re-mote place ai sp-nd the remainder of his life praying for f.-rgivenes for the diabolical crimes he has committed instead in-stead of seeking refuge in the United States, where he is not wanted. If the world is ever to have peace, men of his stamp must not be recognized. There should be no landing place for them after af-ter they have been compelled to flee from their own country. If this" rule I were to be enforced there would be fw-,er fw-,er revolutions in South and Central America and less slaughter of innocent men and wnnvn. |
