Thomas, a high school student stu-dent of Ogden, applied tor enlistment ;in the United States navy several days ago, but found that his hammer tbe barred him. Young Thomas promptly iwent to St. Mark s hospital and suf-jfered suf-jfered the amputation at the first joint of the bothersome toe, and yesterday jhe reported again for a physical examination exami-nation and was accepted. He will be I sent out today with four others on the return from Butte of Lieutenant Edwin Guthrie, officer in charge of the local station.
