Show SELECT OGDEN FOR NOMINATION PLACE First Congressional District Republican Nominating Convention Will Be Held on August 9. The Republican nominating convention conven-tion for the First congressional district, to name a candidate tor representative in congress, will be held in Ogden August Au-gust tl, the day following the .Republican .Republic-an state convention. The First congressional district comprises com-prises all the counties of the state with the exception of Salt Lake, Davis, Tooele and Utah counties, which make up the Second district. The call ior the First district convention has just been issued. The apportionment of delegates will be on the basis of one delegate for every seventy votes cast for Joseph j Howell, Republican candidate for con- gress in that district two years ago. , Tho apportionment of the delegates by counties follows: Beaver, 12; Boxelder, 30; Cache, 48; Carbon, 18; Duchesne, 13; Emery. 13; Garfield, 9; Grand, 3; Iron, 13; Juab, TJ: Kane. G: Millard, I 16; Morgan, 7; Piute, -I; Rich, 5; San: Juan, 3; Sanpete, 4'2; Sevier. 25; Summit, Sum-mit, 20; Uinta, 9; Wasatch. 15; Wash-j ington, 11; Wayne, 4: Weber, 74. County chairmen will direct primaries pri-maries at which delegates to this convention con-vention can bo elected. Probabilities are that most counties will select the delegates from those elected to the state convention. |
