Show CUT QUARTZ FISSURE llM'KliHTUiEL Shows Gold Values and Miners Drifting on It for Intersection. A quartz fissure carrying gold values has been encountered in the lower tunnel tun-nel being driven on the Mclvinney Alining Alin-ing company's property, located in the Big Cottonwood district three miles southeast of Ilolliday, according to a report re-port received by the local officials yes-terdav. yes-terdav. The fissure was cut at a point fifty "feet from the portal and where the tunnel has attained an additional depth below the upper tunnel of 265 feet. The property, which consists of a group of eight claims, has been opened by an upper tunnel driven on a bedded vein of carbonate material which is mixed with crushed quartzite, accord- ined the workings. The vein material is heavily mineralized. After driving the upper tunnel some seventy-six feet the management, upon the advice of the engineers, decided to drive the lower tunnel. By drifting along the quartz fissure encountered in the lower tunnel its intersection in-tersection with the bedded vein will be encountered. Before that point is reached, however, indications point to the discoverv of ore in the quartz fissure. fis-sure. One shift is employed at present and the company is planning on increasing increas-ing the working force in the near future. fu-ture. Fifteen feet back of where the quartz fissure was encountered the miners struck a stringer carrying copper values. val-ues. No attempt has been made as yet t nrospect this stringer which, it is believed, is but an offshoot from the beaded vein.
