Show j NEPHI ' NEPHI, Utah, July 14. The Ladies' Literary club gave a Kensington Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. R. T. Cowan. The hostesses were Mrs. E. R. Forrest. Mrs. W. C. Andrews, Mrs. S. B. McCune. Mrs. Hazel Ellison and Mrs. R. T. Cowan. At 6 o'clock lunch was served to N. .T. Rees. J. L. Belllston, Mrs. F. J. Bonner, George A. Sperry, Mrs. J. W. Whitmore, Mrs. G. M. Whltmore, Mrs. Mark Sowbv, Mrs. A. H. Maiben, Mrs. T. C. Winn, Mrs. J. E. Cole, Mrs. William Bailev, Mrs. J. S. Cowan, Mrs. R. W. Mc-Mullin, Mc-Mullin, Misses Neva Booth, Lula McPher-son, McPher-son, Ethel Wright and Miss Flora Farrls of Oklahoma. A delightful lawn party was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Brough Friday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Austin of Gariand. Splendid music was furnished by Udall's orchestra. At 10:30 refreshments were served. The first of a series of garden parties was given Wednesday afternoon at the home of Miss Ethel Wright, by members of the Utopia club. The outdoor decorations decora-tions were of the national colors and the beautiful flowers of the garden, which also made an elaborate table decoration. Music, sewing and social conversation made ' the afternoon and evening most pleasant. Covers were laid for Mrs. Helen Hoyt, Mrs. Dodd of Boston, Mrs. Wilson of Salt Lake, Mrs. George Chris-tensen Chris-tensen of Mount Pleasant, Mrs. LaVina Wright, Mrs. Pearl Adylott, Misses Lettie Jenkins. Neva Booth, Lula, Jane and Stella Mcpherson, Georgia McCune and Ethel Wright. Tuesday evening the Beehive girls were entertained by Misses Adra Cazler and Leora Belli s ton at the home of the former. for-mer. They chose for their swarm name 'Hofalo." Sunday evening the Sunday school of the Sou tli ward gave a successful concert con-cert in the ward meeting house. The entertainment was a thorough success. A large crowd was present to enjoy the well-prepared programme. Mrs. H. A. Allred entertained Monday evening at the home of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. C. H. PriJe. The time was spent in sewing and social chat. Refreshments were served to the following: M rs. Tuesday evening the girl friends of Mrs. Frank Tranter met at the home of Miss Marie Miller. From there they went to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tranter. The guests were Misses Ida and Ruth Foote, Marie Miller, Lavetta Allen, Ella Larson, Eda Pay, Florence and May Ockey, Ruby Winn, Laurel Francom, Lizzie Black and Ellen Garrett. Mrs. Henry Allred, who has been making mak-ing her home at Payette, Idaho, for some time, has been visiting at Nephi for a short time with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Price. Mr. and Mrs. Allred intend to make their home in Salt Lake. Tuesday Mr. and Mrs. I. H. Grace and daughter, Mrs. Helen Hoyt, and Mrs. Dodd of Boston returned from a trip to Salt Lake and Ogden, where they visited vis-ited a week with relatives and friends. |
