Show ONE IS KILLED IN STORM IN CHICAGO Young Boy Is Knocked Over by Wind and Crushed by Wagon in Street. CHICAGO, Sept. 10. One person was killed and several injured in a severe wind and 1 rainstorm which swept over Chicago this afternoon. Francis Weber, 14 years old, was knocked down by the wind and run over and killed by a wagon. Thomas HUliary, 5S years old, was fatally injured and his wife was severely se-verely hurt when the wind swept the roof off their home. A trolley car crowded with passengers was struck by lightning at Kast Twelfth street and South Wabash avenue. The roof of the car caught fire and the passengers fled to the. street without injury. Five men in a motor boat and two men in a rowboat were rescued in Lake Michigan a mile from shore. A dor.en fircF caused by crossed electric elec-tric wires directly due to the storm, were quickly exti nguished. Scores of signs WQT6 blown down and thousands of basements were flooded. |
