Show IMMENSE DAMAGE BY FLOODS IN OKLAHOMA BARTTESVILEE, Okla., -Sept. .16- One life has been lost, properly damaged to an extent estimated at $500,000 and train service demoralized on three railroads, the result of the worst flood that has overwhelmed this section In twenty-five years. Thomas Clirisman, a ranchman, lost his life near Pawhusket today while attempting attempt-ing to ford a creek. Two bridges have been washed out on the Midland Valley Val-ley railroad and two large steel highway bridges were swept away in Osage county. coun-ty. Several hundred feet of track of the Missouri. Kansas & Texas and Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe railroads, south and west oi here, have been washed out, and hundreds of passengers are stranded here. The Caney river still was rising tonight and the crest of the flood is expected tomorrow. |
